The new logistic warehouse, the launch of work

One of the largest projects in the modern history of Alpetour PLC is coming to an end. The new building will bring us 7.000 m2 of storage space which will enable warehousing on 8.000 pallet spaces.

The layout covers 112 x 60 m and raises 14 m high. This new achievement shall double our storage capacities. This means that with our old warehouse in Škofja Loka and Kranj we will have all together 14.700 m2 of covered storage capacity from which 2.000 of pallet spaces are intended for public customs warehouse type A.

The new warehouse is intended for run-through goods and is also designed for quick manipulation. For this reason there are 9 frontal and 2 side ramps made for transhipment. New transhipment mechanization is also awaited.

The goal of the warehouse, as well as the goal of the company Alpetour PLC itself is to assure the right goods and services at the right time and place, at the right quality and quantity, at the lowest costs and environmental impacts. Our new logistic warehouse closes down a circle, which is absolutely necessary for meeting the actual needs of our business partners. We shall implement the following activities:

• handling of goods,
• packaging,
• commissioning,
• stocks of finished products,
• physical distribution,
• planning of distribution,
• ordering,
• transportation,
• sale services and so on.

The new offices for sales department will be located above the warehouse, which is also a hardly expected modernization which will provide much better working conditions.

The opening is planned for the beginning of January, 2009.
